ObjectiveTo observe the changes of cerebellar function in the post-strokedepression (post-stroke depression, PSD) model of rats. Behavioralobservation and testing were performed and the expression P38and BDNF incerebellum by immunohistochemical method of7days,14days and21days aredetected. we discuss the new mechanism of PSD.MethodsThe healthy SD rats were randomly divided into four groups, control group, stroke group, depression group, and post-stroke depression(PSD)group.Behavioral observation and testing were performed and the expression P38and BDNF in cerebellum by immunohistochemical method of7days,14daysand21days are detected.ResultsCompared with stroke group, depression rats, weight and sugar waterconsumption are decreased, horizontal motion and vertical motion level arelower (P﹤0.01); PSD rats, weight and sugar water consumption drop aremore apparent, horizontal motion and vertical motion level also reduce themost obvious (P﹤0.01).Group comparison:Compared with the stroke group, depression group and PSD group, the expression of P38and BDNF incerebellum are decreased (P﹤0.01). The difference between them was verysignificant (P﹤0.01). Intergroup comparison (7d,14d,21d):Compared with thestroke group, depression group and PSD group, P38and BDNF were significant difference (P﹤0.01).Conclusionthe expression of P38and BDNF in cerebellar are decreased. Thedifference between them was very significant. Cerebellar function changesmay occur with the PSD, further research may help to elucidate thepathogenesis of depression after stroke. Cerebellar dysfunction has thepotential to be involved in PSD.
