Objective:To understand the status of select and evaluate of the pain assessment tool in pain assessment by both doctors and patients and explore the main factors of the status of both doctors’s and patients’ evaluate of the pain assessment. Methods:The questionnaires in this study were designed according to the medical staff and patients, and were finished by convenience sampling survey. The investigation included the general status, the selection and evaluation of pain assessment tools.Results:①200cases from the medical staff(response rate:98.75%) and196cases from patients were investigated(response rate:94.00%).in our study.②In the process of pain assessment, both doctors and patients agreed on the tissue of "whether offer/received pain assessment" and "whether offered/received timely treatment", but had different opinion about told/be told have to deal with the problem of control the pain first.(r=13.055, P=0.000);③Most doctors and patients confirmed that they lacked initiative and effective assessment tools are the main factors to affect pain assessment in pain control, health care workers and patient consider each other was the majority role in pain control.④In the valuation of the four pain assessments, it is the FPS got the highest score in four categories of effectiveness, operability, the degree of willing to use and the degree of others willing to use, the score of four categories were7.05±2.97,7.26±2.83,7.41±3.00,7.27±2.94, and the corresponding score from patients were6.76±2.92,7.00±2.75,6.41±3.06,6.43±3.30, the lower scored pain assessment were FFM and VAS. The four types of questionnaire score were difference and statistically significant.⑤Doctors and patients selected vary type of scale according to different departments, different nature of pain, as well as people of different ages in the pain assessment.⑥The influence factors of scores from the medical staff of the four types of questionnaire were the pain-related knowledge education learned in the work, the frequency of the pain assessment In daily work, the result showed different assessment tools have different influencing factors. There were many factors impacted of patients’ score of the four types of scales, the main factors affected the four types of questionnaires were the number of the tool they knew and the number of days be in hospital. Besides, the number of scales they could use and the marital status were the impact factors for the scores of NRS; the number of scales they could use, gender and occupation could effected the scores of VAS; there were a lots of impact factors of scores of FPS, including the education, the number of scales they could use, occupation, marital status and gender and influence factors of the patients on the VAS score education, the proper use of the tool number, affect patient factors NRS score up, but also including education, the number of correct use of tools, pain-related knowledge education learned in the hospital, occupation, marital status and gender in the hospital for.Conclusion:①The concept of main role in pain control between doctors and patients is inconsistent, and there are differences in the selection of pain assessment tools;②Among the four types of pain assessment tools, both doctors and patients were preferred to FPS, the lowest score of the tools from doctors and patients are VAS and NRS, and the pain assessment tool was one of the key to the score determine the different groups of people;③The main factors affecting medical workers to score the scales summed up were pain-related knowledge from the study and practice, the main factors affecting inpatient’score were more complex, besides the passive acceptance of the pain-related knowledge and practice, as well as the gender, the marital status and the occupation.
