| Objective:This study determine and compare the expression levels of tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a) and interleukin-1(IL-1) in normal cartilage endplate tissue and degenerative cartilage endplate tissue by was Western Blot. This study aimed at investigating the effect of TNF-a and IL-1during the degenerative process of cartilage endplate, in order to supply an experimental evidence for new therapeutic method. Methods:The experimental group was the cartilage endplate tissue of the patients with lumbar disc herniation by surgical resection, while those of control group were from normal cartilage endplate of patients with spine fractures and scoliosis. By the same group of experienced surgeon to complete surgical drawn. Western Blot method was used to determine the expression levels of TNF-a and IL-1in the cartilage endplate tissue. SPSS16.0statistical software was used for statistical analysis. X±S data indicated that among the groups using single-factor analysis of variance, Correlation analysis using Pearson correlation.Results:1. The expression levels of TNF-a and IL-1is not only in normal lumbar cartilage endplate tissue but also in the degenerative cartilage endplate tissue.2. The expression levels of the TNF-a and IL-1in the experimental group are significantly higher than the control group.(P<0.05).3. The expression levels of the TNF-a and IL-1was not positively correlated in the degenerative cartilage endplate tissue (r=0.177, P=0.529>0.05).Conclusions:1. TNF-a and IL-1both able to express in the cells of human cartilage endplate tissue.2. The expression levels of the TNF-a and IL-1in the experimental group are significantly higher than the control group.3. The expression levels of the TNF-a and IL-1in human cartilage endplate tissue was not positively correlated. |
