Objective:Compare the different levels of plasma visfatin between patients withatrial fibrillation(AF) and without AF. In the group of patients with AF, compare thedifferent levels of plasma visfatin between patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillationand the patients with persistent atrial fibrillation. Analyze the relation betweenhypertension and plasma visfatin. Research on relations between the levels of plasmavisfatin and age, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), waistline, hipline, waist-to-hipratio(WHR), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-densitylipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C), fastingblood glucose(FBG), blood pressure (BP), white blood cell (WBC) of the patients. Methods:Take use of Case-control Study. Collect245patients who had12-leadECG recordings in the Department of Cardiology in hospital because of palpitation orchest congestion from July2012to December2012. The patients are from31to94years and the mean age is64.67±11.4years. There are128male patients who are from31to94years with the mean age of61.5±11.65years and117female patients who arefrom43to92years with the mean age of68.32±9.97years. According to classificationstandard of the ESC guidelines for the management of AF in2010, there are105patients of paroxysmal AF which lasts shorter than7days of AF and converts to sinusrhythm and140patients of persistent AF which is present when an AF episode eitherlasts longer than7days and shorter than30days or requires termination bycardioversion either with drugs or by direct current cardioversion(DCC) to recur sinusrhythm. Choose25patients who have diseases of hypertension, Coronary heart disease, cardiac neurosis as the comparing group with10patients who also have hypertension. There are133patients with hypertension in the group of AF which patients is245including58in group of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and75in the group of persistent atrial fibrillation. The diagnosis of AF must have a12-lead ECG recordings, all patientswere ruled out myocardial infarction (2months), cerebrovascular disease, blood systemdisease, diabetes, severe liver and kidney insufficiency, a variety of tumor diseases, acute infection (4weeks), acute pulmonary embolism, COPD, cardiac insufficiency, making use of corticosteroids treatment of connective tissue disease, oral TZDS drugspatients and secondary hypertension. Have a detection in concentration of plasma byELISA measuring, blood pressure, height, weight, waistline, hipline and calculatingbody mass index (BMI) and waist-to-hip ratio and draw blood from venous to measureTC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, FBG, the WBC and so on.Results:(1) The level of plasma visfatin of the group with AF is57.62±21.84ng/ml which is obviously higher than the comparing group of44.68±16.89ng/ml. It is significant in statistic(sP<0.01). The level of plasma visfatin ofgroup with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation is61.45±21.14ng/ml which is higher than thegroup with persistent atrial fibrillation of53.25±23.08ng/ml. It is significant in statistics(P<0.05)(.2)The level of plasma visfatin in the comparing group is45.64±15.7ng/mlwith hypertension and it is58.48±23.54ng/ml with hypertension in the AF group.Comparing with the statistics without hypertension (44.04±17.7ng/ml,57.53±21.26ng/ml), the difference has no statistic significance(P>0.05). The level ofplasma visfatin in the group of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation is51.06±24.35ng/ml withhypertension and56.71±26.34ng/ml without hypertension. It is61.96±21.33ng/ml withhypertension and59.67±18.64ng/ml without hypertension in the group of persistentatrial fibrillation. The difference has no satistic significance(P>0.05).(3)Plasmavisfatin has positive correlation with FBG and has no correlation with age, height, weight, waistline, hipline, WHR, BMI, SBP, DBP and WBC.(4)There is no statisticalsignificance to compare the age, height, weight, waistline, hipline, WHR, BMI, SBP,DBP,FBG, WBC of AF group to the normal group.Conclusions:(1)The levels of plasma visfatin of the patients with AF areobviously higher than the group of patients without AF. The levels of plasma visfatinof the patients with persistent atrial fibrillation are higher than the group of patientswithe paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. The two results above mean that visfatin in plasmamay increase the incidence of AF.(2)There was no correlation between hypertensionand the plasma visfatin.(3)Visfatin has positive correlation with FBG and has no correlation with age, height, weight, waistline, hipline, WHR, BMI, SBP, DBP andWBC.
