The Clinical Value Of Capsule Endoscopy In The Diagnosis Of Obscure Gastrointestinal Bleeding

Objective: To analysis of capsule endoscopy in diagnosis of obscuregastrointestinal bleeding(OGIB) clinical application value. Methods:Atotal of53OGIB patients undergone capsule endoscopy from March2012to March2013at First Hospital of Jilin University.And analysis ofthe results of its image. Results:1、in53patients,13had not reached theend of the check ileocecal capsules, including four cases of intestinalnew creatures, three cases of Crohn’s disease, two cases of vascularmalformations (including1patient with gastrointestinal bleeding,surgery to stop bleeding and ultimately death, capsule endoscopy isnot excreted), and the remaining four cases the cause is unknown (nofollow-up after diagnosis).2、 In this study, the results of capsuleendoscopy positive rate of62.26%,16.98%, was suspected, negativerate of20.75%, the detection rate of79.24%. Detection of lesions in thesmall intestine disease, accounting for84.8%of the total.By tracking thefollow-up, found that capsule endoscopy final diagnosis was64.29%,specificity87.5%, the false negative rate was12.5%.3、 Capsuleendoscopy in patients and findings of the stomach and small intestine inpatients with normal or abnormal results transit time no significantdifference,but the results of the small bowel capsule endoscopy inpatients with abnormal mean transit time was significantly longer than the physical examination (P=0.025).Conclusion:Capsule endoscopy inobscure gastrointestinal bleeding diagnosed with high detection rate andmore secure, they provide information that can guide further diagnosisand treatment of unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding as soon as possiblecapsule endoscopy.
