Objective:Currently,idiopathic short stature(ISS)is considered a disease caused by the jointactions of multi-gene and environmental factors,Its etiopathogenisis is not yetclear.Growth hormone binding protein(GHBP) was found may associated with theoccurrence of ISS,but not much related research were made.Therefore,this study willconduct a discussion about ISS related GHBP,to explore its relationship with ISS andits clinical significance.Methods:1.The235short stature children from the Endocrinic Genetic Metabolicdepartment in Children’s Hospital of Jiangxi Province were divided into3sub-groupsaccording to the peak value of GH stimulation test,ISS group(GH>10ng/ml,115patients)、partial growth hormone deficiency(pGHD)group(GH=5-10ng/ml,70patients) and growth hormone deficiency(GHD)group(<5ng/ml,50patients).The115ISS cases and45normal stature children were recruited as the case group andhealth control group respectively in the study.2.Compare GHBP value of ISS group and control group.3.Analyze the relativity of GHBP of ISS group and the peak value of GH.4.Compare GHBP of the total of34follow-up cases of ISS who were treatedwith GH before and after3months、6months treatment.5.The serum concentration of GHBP was measured by enzyme linkedimmunosorbent assay. The results were analyzed by t-test and Linear Regressionanalyses.Results:1.The level of serum GHBP in ISS was higher than that in controlgroup[(264.30±149.91)pmol/L vs (102.45±16.24)pmol/L,P<0.05].2.Linear Regression Analysis show the level of serum GHBP in ISS has noobvious relation with the peak value of GH.3.GHBP value of34cases of ISS decreased obviousely after3months、6months treatment(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.The serum level of GHBP between ISS group and control group has significantdifference,that of case group was obviously higher than control group,GHBP wasmay associated with the occurrence of ISS.2.The relativity of the level of GHBP in ISS and the peak value of GH wasanalyzed by the Linear Regression Analysis,the result show it has no obvious relationbetween them.GH secretion of human beings is characteristic of day-nightrhythmicity of GH secretion,but GHBP does not,which may be more conducive tothe regulation of GH,and maintain GH concentration stable.3.After treatment,the level of GHBP of ISS was significantly decreased,andHtSDS was higher than before,which indicate that GHBP can be the monitoringindex of clinical effect.
