| Objective: To detect the expression of IL-9in plasma, peripheral bloodmononuclear cells(PBMC) and tissues of nasal polyps of patients with Chronicrhinosinusitis with polyps (CRSwNP), and compared with the normal control group. To study the relation between the IL-9and the occurrence as well as developmentof CRSwNP.Method: Collecting30cases of CRSwNP patients as the case group, and30cases of alone in patients with deviation of nasal septum as the controls. The levelof IL-9expression in plasma was detected by means of enzyme-linkedimmunosorbent assay (ELISA). RT-PCR was used to detect the expression ofIL-9mRNA in PBMC, Nasal polyps and normal nasal mucosa.Result: It is of statistical importance that the level of IL-9expression in plasmaof the experimental group was higher than control one (P<0.05). From the RT-PCRresults, we found that IL-9mRNA expression in PBMC of the experimental groupwere significantly higher than that of the control one (P<0.05), and the IL-9mRNAexpression in nasal polyps increased than the normal nasal mucosa,(P<0.05).Conclusion: The increased expression of IL-9in CRSwNP may promote thesystemic and nasal immune and inflammatory response, lead to the occurrence anddevelopment of nasal and sinus mucosal inflammation. Therefore, the inhibition ofthe expression of IL-9, regulation of the human body’s immune status, and control ofthe inflammatory response, would provide novel insights into the nasal polypstreatment. |
