Objective: With the purpose of providing a new method and relevant theory forincreasing clinical effect on treating Primary Trigeminal Neuralgia, this study is to comparebloodletting therapy on Shangyang(LI1) and Lidui(ST45) with routine acupuncture andfind which is more superior in relieving pain in a short time.Methods:60patients who suffered from Primary Trigeminal Neuralgia were dividedinto two groups by the random number table: the treatment group and the controlgroup;both of them had30cases. The treatment group took bloodletting therapy onShangyang(LI1) and Lidui(ST45),the two sides of which should be used at the same time. While the control group took routine acupuncture by needling the points of affected side:Sibai(ST2) Xiaguan(ST7) Dicang(ST4) Cuanzhu(BL2) and those of both sides:Hegu(LI4) Neiting(ST44) and Taichong(LR3).The short form of McGill pain question(SF-MPQ)was used to display the changes of the scores of patients before and30minutes after thetreatment.Deal the data with SPSS17.0.Results: By comparing the indicators of SF-MPQ before and after the treatment of thetwo groups, there was very significant difference(P<0.01) on the indicators ofPRI,VAS,PPI,T and T. By comparing the indicators of SF-MPQ after the treatment ofthe two groups, there was significant difference(P<0.05) on the indicators of PRI,VAS,PPIand T.The effect of the treatment group is superior to that of the control group. Conclusion: Both groups can relieve pain from primary trigeminal neuralgiasignificantly, but the transient analgesic effect of the treatment group is obviously superiorto that of the control group.
