Aim To observe and compare the screenages feature of fundusautofluorescence (AF) and infrared ray(IR) with exudative age-relatedmacular degeneration(AMD).Methods fundus fluorescein angiograms(FFA),indocyanine greenangiography(ICGA),optical coherence tomography(OCT),autofluorescence (AF) and infrared ray(IR) screenages were obtained from23eyes of20patients with age-related macular degeneration(AMD),Thecharacteristic of fundus autofluorescence and infrared ray was watched andcontrasted with different types.Results Of23eyes,7had classic CNV,9had occult CNV and7hadmixed CNV.In classic CNV,AF feature: A weak autofluorescencesemaphore was detected at the lesions in7eyes(100%).A increasedautofluorescence loop enclosing the CNV was tested in5eye(s71.42%).IRfeature:The lesion on FFA revealed correlation to a dark core surroundedby a bright reflecting ring on IR.In occult CNV,AF feature:The variousfoci of weak autofluorescence were found in8eyes(88.89%),no changes of autofluorescence were found in1case.IR feature:Occult CNV lesionsappeared as poorly demarcated,jagged areas of increased fluorescence.Inmixed CNV,AF feature:All of mixed CNV were detected both low patchof fluorescence and various foci of low fluorescence.IR feature:The lesionappeared as low fluorescence surrounded by scattered irregular highfluorescence.Conclusions AF and IR pictures are non invasive and repeatabilityimaging of the macula.Diverse patterns of AF and IR were observed indifferent types with exudative AMD.Periodic observation of CNV with AFand IR examination is of vital clinical value in the estimation of occurrenceand development with diverse types of exudative age-related maculardegeneration.
