Objective: To explore the expression difference of microRNAsbetween pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) and healthy controls(HC).Toevaluate the potential value of miRNAs in PTB diagnosis. Methods: Total RNAs were extracted from the blood of children withPTB and HC. Human microarrys were employed to screen the miRNAsthat were differently expressed, and then RT-qPCR were used to qualifiedthe expression. T-test was applied to statistically analysis. Bioinformaticsanalysis were utilized to understand miRNA-mRNA interaction network. Results: Analysis of expression profiles showed that expression of21miRNAs was significantly altered during PTB as compared with HC,15miRNAs were up-regulated and6miRNAs down-regulated. Weconstructed the regulatory networks of miRNAs that were differentiallyexpressed between PTB and HC through bioinformatics methods (P<0.05).Conclusions: Compared with adult tuberculosis miRNA expressions, childhood pulmonary tuberculosis showed some different performances and had some correlations with some signaling pathway and these miRNAsmight be considered as potential biomarkers of childhood PTB diagnosis.
