Objective: To analyze the mental status of the patients witharrhythmia.Find out the influnce and severity of anxiety. Through theobservation of pupils in patients with arrythmia, analysis of anxiety inpatients with arrhythmia objectively.Methods:Chose62patients with arrhythmia as the experimental group,to comparing the anxiety rate, chose another55patients without arrhythmiaas the control group.Collect general condition of patients, using theHamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) to evaluate the psychological status of allpatients with statistical analysis, and analyze their anxiety scores. Based onthe above results, divided those arrhythmia patients with anxiety intoanother two groups in different anxiety rates (anxiety group, non-anxietygroup). Get the images of pupil and Iris through infrared digital photographymethod and was performed in low illumination environment. Processing theobtained images through computer software, draw the diameter R1of thepupil and iris diameter R2, calculating both diameter ratiosz(R1/R2). Findout if there were differences between the ratio of the diameter of the pupil/iris diameter and their characteristics in the two groups of patients. The results obtained by the two groups of patients were statistically analyzed.Results:1. The incidence of anxiety was higher in the experimental group thanthe control group (P<0.01).In the62patients with arrhythmia, the patientswithout anxiety accounted for30.6%,mild anxiety accounted for50.0%,moderate anxiety accounted for14.5%,severe anxiety accounted for4.8%.19of the55patients without arrhythmia suffered from anxiety, accounting for34.5%. the difference was statistically significant (P <0.01).2.The average scores of the A(R1/R2) was higher in the arrhythmiapatients with anxiety than that in the arrhythmia patients without anxiety(P<0.01).The Aaverage score of43the arrythmia patients with anxietywas0.41±0.07,higher when compared with the arrhythmia patients withoutanxiety(A average score0.33±0.02),the difference was significant(P<0.01).3.The A’s distribution curve shape was different between thearrhythmia patients with anxiety group and the arrhythmia patients withoutanxiety, the difference was significant(P<0.01). In the same time, the Avalue of the arrhythmia associated with anxiety group was around0.35-0.45,which was approximate normal distribution; The A valuedistribution of the arrhythmia not associated with anxiety groupconcentrated at0.25-0.35, not a normal distribution. The A value’sdistribution curve peak in arrhythmia associated with anxiety group was located in0.35-0.45, higher than the arrhythmia without anxietygroup(0.25-0.35).Conclusion:The patients with arrhythmia had different degree ofanxiety, and also had higher incidence of anxiety than the patients withoutanxiety. Pupil dynamic assay was preliminary indicated to be able toobjectively determine the presence of the arrhythmia patient anxiety.
