Objective:This study aims to use scientific and professional tools, to understand the memory function and emotional state (depression, anxiety)of young and middle-aged patients with hyperthyroidism, meanwhile to ask the changes of depression, anxiety with patients return to normal thyroid function after treatment with radioiodine-131,to provide a new theoretical basis for further understanding the mental damage caused by hyperthyroidism and explore therapeutic measures.Methods:1.121patients with hyperthyroidism were collected from the Endocrinology Department of The82Hospital of People’s Liberation Army in January to August2013,the subject aged20-60.Determinate the serum markers(FT3、FT4、TSH)of the patients.All the patients accomplished these questionnaires under the standard guiding words on their own, the questionnaires include the General information questionnaire, Clinical Memory Test, SDS Test and SAS Test.2.121patients with hyperthyroidism were collected from the Endocrinology Department of The82Hospital of People’s Liberation Army in January to August2013. Among them,77patients were treated with radioiodine-131,there were43patients come to review,their thyroid function returned to normal. Record the date and collect the patients’general information and serum markers,accomplished SDS Test and SAS Test.Completion of the evaluation were a total of38cases.All statistical analysis was performed using SPSS17.0software package.Results:1.All the121young and middle-aged patients with hyperthyroidism finished the questionnaires and brought into the analysis. Average scores of all age groups of young and middle-aged patients with hyperthyroidism on the subtests were lower than the national norm, the difference is significant(P< 0.05~0.001).The scores of SDS Test and SAS Test were higher than national norm and the difference is significant(P<0.001).2.After treatment with radioiodine-131,the patients’scores of SDS Test and SAS Test were significantly lower,the difference was significant(P<0.001).Hyperthyroid patients with depression and anxiety have a significant correlation, the difference was significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Memory function is descended in young and middle-aged patients with hyperthyroidism, especially in recent memory and learning ability,there are more depression and anxiety disorders in patients.2.Young and middle-aged patients with hyperthyroidism is prone to mild to moderate both in depression and anxiety, the severe degree was relatively less.3. In the young and middle-aged patients,their thyroid function returned to normal after treatment with radioiodine-131, The incidence of the depression and anxiety was significantly reduced.4.Hyperthyroid patients with depression and anxiety have a obvious correlation.
