Ultrasound guided vacuum-assisted Mammotome minimally invasivebreast rotatory cutting system was developed from the fundamental of Fine-needleaspiration cytology and core needle biopsy. This system can get adequate amount ofhistological specimens from a minimal cut by the aid of the guideless and location ofthe ultrasound, which could got the accuracy resection of the focuses. In the otherhand, there is not obvious scar in the skin which would endow the system with beauty, security, reliability, accuracy, high specificity, etc. Because of these disadvantages, this method have gradually replaced the traditional surgical and puncture biopsy andhas become a novel method of biopsy diagnosis and treatment. Comparing to thetraditional surgery, this minimally invasive breast biopsy system has more excellenteffects toward the benign breast tumors with diameter below3cm and especiallytoward those tumors which traditional surgery could not solve. The complications arealso less than the traditional ones. To those patients with multiple focuses in the breast, this system could cut multiple focuses by one cut, which have got extensive favorablecomments from the female beauties. Furthermore, this system has graduallypopularized to the therapy of gynecomastia, accessory breast, etc. and has got obviouscurative effects. To treat the breast cysts and malignant breast focuses by this systemis also researched. But there also have some problems existed in the process ofemploying this system for therapy. For example, decreasing the palindromia andresidual of focuses, the security for cutting malignant breast tumors, etc. should beresearched more. This paper has reviewed the value of diagnosis and therapy of breastdiseases by employed mammotome system.
