Objective: To research the expression of SHH, PTCH protein in ovarian tumor andits clinical significance.Method: Using immunohistochemical staining method to detect the expression rulesof SHH and PTCH protein in80cases of ovarian specimens,including40cases withepithelial ovarian carcinoma,20cases with ovarian benign tumor and20cases withnormal ovarian tissue, discuss the relations with pathological types of Ovariancancer,Pathology classification, lymphatic metastasis and clinical stages, probe into thedeep meaning with clinic.Result:1. SHH proteins were not expressed in normal ovarian tissue, the positive expressionof ovarian benign tumor and epithelial ovarian carcinoma is abnormal, the rate ofwhich were respectively15%(3/20)、42.5%(17/40).The positive expression rete ofSHH proteins in epithelial ovarian carcinoma is obviously higher than in theovarian benign tumor, which are statistically significant(p<0.05).The positive rate ofPTCH protein in normal ovarian tissue、ovarian benign tumor and epithelial ovariancarcinoma were respectively5%(1/20),60%(12/20),87.5%(35/40).By pairwisecomparison, there are statistically significant(p<0.05).2. SHH protein in high-differentiated, poorly differentiated ovarian carcinoma wereweakly positive expression, the rate of which were respectively:41.18%(7/17),43.48%(10/23), no statistically significant(p>0.05). PTCH protein inhigh-differentiated,poorly differentiated ovarian cancer tissue expression waspositive-strongly positive, The expression rateswere:88.24%(15/27),86.96%(20/23),no statistically significant(p>0.05).3. SHH protein expression showed a weak positive in epithelial ovarian carcinoma, therate in the early (Ⅰ, Ⅱ stage) epithelial ovarian carcinoma was;18.75%(3/16),in the late(Ⅲ,Ⅳ stage) was:58.33%(14/24).There was statistically significant(p<0.05).The positive expression rate of PTCH protein in the early (Ⅰ, Ⅱstage)epithelial ovarian carcinoma was81.25%(13/16),in the late stage (Ⅲ, Ⅳ) was91.67%(22/24). There was no significant difference between them, that means nostatistically significant (p>0.05).4. SHH protein and PTCH protein expression rates in20cases of serous carcinomawere respectively:40%(8/20),85%(17/20), in14cases of mucinous carcinoma wererespectively:42.86%(6/14),85.71%(12/14),in4cases of endometrial carcinomawere:50%(2/4),100%(4/4),in two cases of clear cell carcinomawere:50%(1/2),100%(2/2).There was no statistically significant bycomparison(p>0.05).That means there was no significant difference in SHH proteinand PTCH protein expression rate in different histological types of epithelial cellcarcinoma.5. The positive expression rate of SHH protein in lymph node metastasiswas40.91%(9/22),and44.44%(8/18)without lymph node metastasis,p>0.05.Thepositive expression rate of PTCH protein in lymph node metastasiswas86.36%(19/22),and88.89%(16/18)without lymph node metastasis,p>0.05,whichwas no statistically significant.6. PTCH protein and SHH protein expression in epithelial ovarian cancer cells waspositively correlated,r=0.325,p<0.05.Conclusion:1. SHH protein is not expressed in normal ovarian tissues but expressed in benignovarian tumor tissues and ovarian cancer, and highly expressed in epithelial ovariancarcinoma.2. The expression of SHH protein in the differentiation of high-Poorly differentiatedovarian carcinoma was weak.3. PTCH protein was expressed in normal ovarian tissues, benign ovarian tumortissues and ovarian cancer, and highly expressed in benign ovarian tumor tissues andepithelial ovarian carcinoma. 4. The expression of PTCH protein in the differentiation of high-Poorly differentiatedovarian carcinoma was positive~strong positive.5. SHH and PTCH were positively correlated, both of them promote the occurrenceand development of ovarian cancer.
