ObjectiveImplementing family supportive psychological intervention,based on theconventional hospital treatment and routine care to patients with depressionafter traumatic brain injury,to observe the therapeutic effect of the interventionand quality of Life.MethodsData were collected in Neurosurgery section of hospital in Jinzhou Cityfrom September,2011to February,2012. Divided the participants into twogroups-experimental group and control group,40each group. Beforeintervention, evaluated two groups about Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD)and Quality of Life-Index (QL-Index) scores. Patients of the two groupsimplemented conventional hospital treatment and routine care, while patientsof experimental group were given added intervention—family supportivepsychological intervention. Three months later, re-evaluated HAMD andQL-Index scores, During this period,the experimental group of dischargedpatients take the combinative home visits which is take the door and telephonefollow-up to continue to intervene. Based on this, evaluated whether familysupportive psychological intervention is available for improving depression andquality of Life. Two sample t-test was used between groups, while self-pairedt-test was used inside groups for statistics analyzing. Data was processedthrough SPSS17.0software. Inspection level is setted as α=0.05, when P< 0.05, it is significance in statistics.Results1、Depression status comparison: Compare depression status between twogroups before intervention,differences are not significance in statistics(P>0.05).Through comparison in groups before and after intervention, the differences(d)between two groups show the improved degree of depression status ofexperimental group is higher than control group(P<0.05).2、Quality of Life comparison: Compare Quality of Life between two groupsbefore intervention, differences are not significance in statistics(P>0.05).Comparison in groups before and after intervention, the differences(d) showsthe improved degree of Quality of Life of experimental group is higher thancontrol group(P<0.05).ConclusionsFamily supportive psychological intervention plays an important in improvingthe conditions of patients with depression after TBI, so as to promote therehabilitation of TBI and elevate patients’ quality of Life. The trial therapy haspractical significance in the clinical popularization and application.
