Objective:To investigate the relationship of HOMA-IR with serum level of AFABP in newly diagnosed type2diabetic patients.Methods:80newly diagnosed type2diabetic patients and79subjects with normal glucose tolerance were enrolled for this study. HOMA-IR was calculated.. Serum AFABP was measured with an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit.Results:1. Serum concentrations of AFABP in T2DM were higher than those in NGT (P<0.05).2. HOMA-IR1、HOMA-IR2in newly diagnosed T2DM were significantly higher than those in NGT(P<0.01). TI measured with ELISA was significantly lower than IRI measured with CLIA (P<0.01) and γs of two methods was0.997(P<0.01).3. In a multiple stepwise regression analysis, AFABP was one of the most significant determinants for HOMA-IR1、HOMA-IR2(P<0.01), after other factors adjustment, serum AFABP was strongly positively associated with HOMA-IR1、HOMA-IR2(P<0.01).Conclusions:1. AFABP may relate with T2DM.2. There is insulin resistance in newly diagnosed T2DM, TI detected by ELISA may have certain clinical value.3. AFABP may correlate with insulin resistance.
