Objective:To study the epidemiological feature of thin endometrium in patients undergoing assisted reproductive technology so as to investigate relative risk factors. The result will contribute to the futher study and lay a foundation for the primary prevention of thin endometrium.Method:A case-control study was used on169thin endometrium cases and176controls who received assisted reproductive technology in reproductive center of Xiangya hospital from January2011to August2012. Data on general condition, history of pregnancy and gynecology, assisted reproductive therapy, living habits, psychological factors etc. was collected with epidemiological questionnaires, and then was analyzed by non-conditional logistic regression model.Result:single factor analysis showed that patient’s age, the volume of menstrual flow, gravidity, parity, hysteroscopy, curettage after spontaneous/drug induced abortion, artificial abortion-vacuum aspiration, curettage after parturition/odinopoeia, intrauterine adhesion, genital tuberculosis, intrauterine device, pelvic surgery, fibroid, uterine malformation, infertility type, cause of infertility, number of ART cycles, basal FSH, type of protocol, anxiety, depression and satisfaction of family status were influencing factors of thin endometrium. A further multiple-factor logistic regression confirmed that risk factors of thin endometrium included hypomenorrhea, curettage after spontaneous/drug induced abortion, artificial abortion-vacuum aspiration, curettage after parturition/odinopoeia, intrauterine adhesion, genital tuberculosis, fibroid, uterine malformation, cause of infertility and anxiety. Conclusion:Thin endometrium is affected by multiple factors including hypomenorrhea, intrauterine procedure in gestational period and subsequent intrauterine adhesion, genital tuberculosis etc. Anovulation is a high risk factor of thin endometrium, and endometriosis, infertility of unexplained reason are possible protective factors compared to male factor infertility.
