Background:In Feb.2010, five departments of China, including the Health Department of China,constituted the “Suggestions on the Public Hospital Reform Trials”. Promoting theenthusiasm of the public hospital nurses is really essential for the public hospital reform,because they are the mainstream impetus of this reform.Objective:To survey the awareness of the reform of public hospitals about the nurse staffs of Eightpublic hospitals in An hui Province and to provide some recommendations for thereform of public hospitals.Methods:Through literature review and creative design, we formed the questionnaire of publichospital workers’ desire of reform. By secret way, we investigated438public hospitalnurse staffs of4hospitals which participated in the reform and four counterparts.Epidata3.0and spss13.0were utilized in the data management.Results:In430nurse staffs,77.9percent of public hospital reform policy to understand,96.98%of the nurses involved in the reform agreed with the hospital where, do not agree withthe reform only3.02%,and56.2%of the nurses believed the reform can promotepersonal career development, no change37.5%think that will be restricted for only 6.3%of personal development; nurses willingness to participate in the reform of publichospitals, and reform of the personal interests generation.Conclusion:Improve income and working conditions of nurses, broaden nurses’ personal andprofessional development will be important measures to mobilize nurses to participatein the reform initiative; intensify the reform of public hospitals related policy content ofpropaganda for the the reform willingness to take appropriate incentives promote animportant guarantee for the smooth progress of the reform of public hospitals.
