The Clinical Research Of Xiaozheng Zhitong Paste With Oxycontin On Moderate And Severe Cancer Pain

Object:Using the international quality of life questionnaire to evaluate the effect of xiaozhengzhitong paste and oxycontin on quality of life (QOL) of patients with moderate and severe cancer pain. And referred to the traditional evaluating indexes of clinical efficiency (numerical rating scales,onset time and duration of drug, Karnofsky score, clinical symptom amelioration, and poisonous side reaction).Thereby to provide the clinical evidence to spread using xiaozhengzhitong paste and make a basis of developing new painkillers.Methods:51patients with moderate and severe cancer pain were randomly assigned into2groups. The26cases in the combined treated group were given xiaozhengzhitong paste and oxycontin scheme, and the25cases in control group were treated with oxycontin scheme only.7days is a treatment course. They were observed for one treatment course with QOL estimated by EORTC QLQ-C30questionnaire, the international questionnaire as the tool for measurement, and referred to the traditional evaluating indexes of clinical efficiency.Results:After treatment, the onset time of the trail group is21.00±5.92min,while of the control group is40.00±11.39min. The duration of the trail group is12.04±2.63h, while of the control group is10.34±2.25h. The trail group displayed more effective enhancing the physical strength (KPS score) and the quality of life, lightening the clinical symptoms.The trail group using oxycontin was well below the control group,which can reduce the oxycontin poisonous side reaction. Showing significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Two groups compared the pain relief (CR+PR) when the treatment completed.The trail group total pain relief was88.46%, while the response rate of the control group was80.00%, there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion:In this research xiaozheng Zhitong paste and oxycontin scheme can shorten the onset time and prolong the duration,enhance the physical strength (KPS score) of patients with moderate and severe cancer pain, improve QOL, lighten the clinical symptoms.There is few adverse effect of xiaozheng zhitong paste,which deserve spreading its clinical application.
