Objective: To observe the efficacy of plasmapheresis in hyperlipidemic severe acutepancreatitis (HL-SAP). Method:48HL-SAP patients were randomly divided into atreatment group and a control group. Treatment group:24patients with conventionaltreatment plus plasma exchange treatment. Control group:24patients with conventionaltreatment. We compare these two groups before and after treatment and analysis theclinical signs and symptoms and blood count (WBC), C-reactive protein (CRP), serumamylase (AMY), blood glucose (Glu), triglyceride (TG), liver and kidney function, tumornecrosis factor-a (TNF-α), interleukin-6(IL-6), interleukin-8(IL-8). Result: After a weekof treatment, the two groups in the clinical signs and laboratory results were improvementin different degree but the treatment group improved significantly (P <0.001). Conclusion:plasmapheresis improves the clinical signs and symptoms rapidly and reduces in the WBC,CRP, AMY, Glu, TG, liver and kidney function as well as TNF-α, IL-6and IL-8level. Italso improves the survival rate of patients. As an effective mean of HL-SAP treatment, theplasmapheresis can enhance the success rate and improve prognosis effectively.
