Objective: Investigating acoustic radiation force impulse technology applicationvalue in differentiating benign and malignant thyroid nodules. Methods: Before operation,106cases of thyroid nodules in patients acceptconventional ultrasound and ARFI inspection, and record test results. According tothe postoperative pathologic results, divided into benign and malignant groups, analysis of benign and malignant nodules ARFI performance characteristics and ARFIdiagnostic value for differentiating benign and malignant thyroid nodules.Results:1.106patients, a total of125nodes,63malignant nodules,62benignnodules.2. VTI grading has statistically significant difference between benign andmalignant nodules, and malignant nodules VTI grade higher than benign nodules (Z=8.652, P <0.05). According to the result of ROC curve analysis, VTI grade greaterthan or equal to4as the point of diagnosis benign and malignant nodules, it hashighest sensitivity and specific degrees.3. VTI for diameter less or equal to10mmnodule diagnosis sensitivity is not high, for merging or not merging Hashimoto’sthyroiditis nodule diagnostic rate was no statistically significant difference.4.Differences between benign and malignant nodules VTQ values was statisticallysignificant (t=4.25, P <0.05). According to the result of ROC curve analysis, theVTQ>2.50m/s as a benign and malignant nodules diagnostic point, VTQ in thediagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules have the highest sensitivity andspecific degrees.5. VTI and VTQ joint used for the diagnosis of benign andmalignant thyroid nodules, the diagnosis of sensitivity, specific degrees has improvedsignificantly than separate diagnosis.Conclusion:1. Benign and malignant nodules of VTI grading and VTQ valuesdifference was statistically significant.2. VTI for the diagnosis of malignant nodulesthat diameter less or equal to10mm sensitivity less than nodules that diameter morethan10mm but less than25mm.3. For consolidation of Hashimoto’s thyroiditisnodules and unincorporated Hashimoto’s thyroiditis nodules, both sensitivity andspecific degrees there was no statistically significant difference.4. For merging calcified nodules, VTI has certain diagnostic value on it.5. For small papillarycarcinoma, diagnostic accuracy of VTQ was obviously higher than that of VTI,however, for benign nodules, VTI diagnostic accuracy is significantly higher than theVTQ.6. VTI and VTQ joint used for the diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroidnodules, the diagnosis of sensitivity, specific degrees has improved significantly thanseparate diagnosis, especially for small papillary carcinoma.
