Objective: Compare differences in composition of Triptergium wilfordii,Tripterygium formula particles and Tripterygium Wilfordii preparations by determiningmonomer ingredients and effective components and combining with characteristicspectrum. Observe the toxic injury of three Tripterygium drugs to rat. Combining qualityanalysis with toxicity test, it can procide evidence of quality evaluation and medicationreasonably of this dugs.Method: Triptolide and Wilforlide were determined by High Performance LiquidChromatography. The total triptolide tripterygium was determined by UVspectrophotometry. Compared characteristic spectrums of Tripterygium drugs. Generalsymptoms and organs were observed, and AST, ALT, BUN were measured. Histologies ofliver and renal were examined by HE staining.Results: There are some differences in Triptergium wilfordii, Triptery-gium formulaparticles and Tripterygium Wilfordii preparations. The toxicity of the Tripterygiumwilfordii tablets and Tripterygium glycosides tablets is more serious than that ofTripterygium hypoglaucum hutch. It showes positive correlation between toxicity andcomposition contents.Conclusion: This research can evaluate differences in Tripterygium drugs bydetermining contents of two monomer ingredients, effective components and componentgroups and Combining with toxicity test. It points that it takes time for Tripterygiumformula particles to replace Tripterygium, and some Tripterygium Wilfordii preparationscan’t be abused.This research can provide scientific basis on clinical medicationreasonably of Tripterygium drugs.
