Part1The Influence of The Feiji NO.1recipe on Th1/Th2shift inpatients with late with non-small-cell lung cancer【OBJECTIVE】To investigate the effect of chemotherapy and The Feiji NO.1recipes on Th1/Th2shift in patients with late with non-small-cell lung cancer【METHODS】Forty patients were randomly divided into two groups: chemotherapy group.、chemotherapy combined with Chinese herbal medicine group After three treatment weeks,serum levels of IFN-γ、IL-2、IL-4and IL-10were assessed by ELISA, using IFN-γ andIL-2as Th1type cytokines、 IL-4and IL-10as Th2type cytokines.【RESULTS】After chemotherapy, the levels of IFN-γ and IL-2were significantly higher, while thelevels of IL-4and IL-10were significantly lower. Chemotherapy combined with Chineseherbal medicine significantly reduced the levels of IL-4and IL-10. For chemotherapygroup, there were higher levels of Th1type cytokines and lower levels of Th2typecytokines in combination group.【CONCLUSION】The results show that chemotherapy would contribute to the growth of Th2typecytokines and the Feiji NO.1recipe therapy could reverse Th1/Th2shift in patients withlate with non-small-cell lung cancer. Part2Molecular Mechanism of The Feiji NO.1recipes on Th2Shift patients with late with non-small-cell lung cancer【OBJECTIVE】This study was carried out to explore the possible molecular mechanism of The FeijiNO.1recipe on Th2Shift patients with late with non-small-cell lung cancer.【METHODS】Forty patients were randomly divided into two groups: chemotherapy combined withChinese herbal medicine group and chemotherapy group. After two treatment courses, theexpression of T-bet mRNA and GATA3mRNA of peripheral blood mononuclearcells(PBMC) were detected by RT-PCR, using T-bet as the transcription factor of Th1celland GATA3as the transcription factor of Th2Cell.【RESULTS】The gene expression of T-bet mRNA in chemotherapy combined with Chinese herbalmedicine group was obviously higher than that of chemotherapy group. Simultaneously,the gene expression of GATA-3mRNA in chemotherapy combined with Chinese herbalmedicine group was significantly lower than that of chemotherapy group.【CONCLUSION】The results show that The Feiji NO.1recipe could reverse Th1/Th2shift in patientswith late with non-small-cell lung cancer and its molecular mechanism might be that TheFeiji NO.1recipe therapy could regulate the expression of transcription factorsT-bet/GATA3to control a complicated molecular network composed by cytokines、transcription factors and cellular signal transduction pathway.
