Comparative Study On The Facial Characteristics And The Position Of Tongue And Hyoid Bone In The Skeletal Class â…¢

Objective:skeletal class Ⅲ malocclusion is the common case in our clinical work. This malocclusion seriously influent patients’beauty, and it always makes barriers to their communications and career development. So it always be a hot subject in research of orthodontic work that how to better understand the reason of this malocclusion.As an important tissue of oral systematic, tongue has close relationship with sleletal Ⅲ malocclusion. Mastering the craniofacial morphology of sleletal Ⅲ malocclusion and the position of tongue and surrounding structure has guiding significance for emergent situation in diagnostic, scheme design and treatment. Methods:The laboratory research uses the sleletal Ⅲ malocclusion and normal occlusion lateral cephalometric X ray films those who were shoot in stomatology hospital of luzhou medical college., With sulfate barium on the surface of the tongue to visualization. According to doting, drawing and measuring to compare the contents below: group1compared the difference of the craniofacial morphology of Ⅲ malocclusion between male and female; group2compared the length and height of different part of tongue tissue between Ⅲ malocclusion and normal occlusion; group3compared the hyoid bone horizontal position between Ⅲ malocclusion and normal occlusion; group4compared the relationship of root tip spot of incisor and the inclined of lower incisor between Ⅲ malocclusion and normal occlusion; All the data were analysed with SPSS17.0software and analyzed by independent sample t-test. Results:The1group:Compare the craniofacial characteristic charts between men and women who are skeletal Class Ⅲ we find that men who are skeletal Class Ⅲ have longer Maxillary lenth、higher height in the back and lower of the Skull Cranial Bones compared with women,and the result has statistically significant differences with P<0.05.Men who are skeletal Class Ⅲ have longer Mandibular length than women.This result has significantly meaningful statistics with P<0.01.Other groups have no meaningful statistics.The2group:Compare the people who are skeletal Class Ⅲ with the people who are skeletal ClassⅠ,the former has shorter distance between O-T2and O-T3in the front of the tongue and has lower position of the HET tongue.This result has statistically significant differences with P<0.05.The people who are skeletal Class Ⅲ have longer length of their ET tongue and the result has the significantly meaningful statistics with P<0.01.Other groups have no meaningful statistics. The3group:Compare the people who are skeletal Class Ⅲ with the people who are skeletal Class Ⅰ.The hyoid’s measuring distance in the sagittal of the former has statistically significant differences with P<0.05and has the significantly meaningful statistics with P<0.01in the horizontal direction.The4group:Compare the people who are skeletal Class Ⅲ with the people who are skeletal Class Ⅰ.the Mandibular incisor tilt more to the labial side of the former. This result has statistically significant differences with P<0.05. The people who are skeletal Class Ⅲ have shorter distance between their root apex of the Incised teeth and the tip of the tongue. This result has the significantly meaningful statistics with P<0.01. Conlusion:1.Among the skeletal Class Ⅲ patients,man has longer Maxillary and Mandible length、higher height in the back and lower of the Skull Cranial Bones compared with woman and has a prominent difference of the length in the Mandibular.2.Compare the people who are skeletal Class Ⅲ with the people who are skeletal Class Ⅰ,the former not only has lower positon at the front of the tongue but also has prominent higher height and longer length of the tongue.3.Compare the people who are skeletal Class Ⅲ with the people who are skeletal Class Ⅰ,the former has the hyoid bone whose positon towards more to the inferior.4.Compare the people who are skeletal Class Ⅲ with the people who are skeletal Class Ⅰ,the former has shorter distance between their root apex of the Incised teeth and the tip of the tongue.The distance has a high direct correlation with the labial inclination of the Mandible Incised teeth...
