Objective: Observe the clinical effect and safety of Fo Shou Qu Feng Decoction in thetreatment of idiopathic facial nerve paralysis, and provide a theoretical support and practicalbasis for guiding the clinical rational drug use. Methods: In accordance with the entry criteria of idiopathic facial nerve paralysispatients80cases in Gansu Province Chinese Medicine Hospital Department of internalmedicine-Neurology from2013January to2013November. Using random, compared studymethod, divided into the treatment group of40cases (test during the fall off in1cases) and acontrol group of40cases randomly (test during the fall off in2cases). In the basic treatment, the treatment group was given Fo Shou Qu Feng Decoction; the control group was givenQianZhengSan. The two groups were in accordance with the established method of clinicalobservation of treatment. The blood routine, urine routine, stool routine, liver function, renalfunction, electrocardiogram and adverse reactions may occur during treatmentas the safetyevaluation index; as the safety evaluation index; using House-Brackmann facial nerve gradingstandard, modified Portmann score standard and facial disability index (FDI) scale asindicators of efficacy evaluation,to evaluate the effect and safety of the two groups. Results: The treatment group forty cases, fall off in1case; the control group forty cases, fall off in2cases. The final treatment group have39cases and the control group38caseswere included in analyze of the result.(1)clinical efficacy analyze of House—Brackmann inthe two groups: the treatment group, the total effective rate of97.44%,the control group, thetotal effective rate of89.47%,clinical efficacy and grading of House—Brackmann in thetreatment group was better than that in the control group (P<0.05);(2)clinical efficacy analyzeof modified Portmann scale score in the two groups: the treatment group, the total effectiverate of97.44%,the control group, the total effective rate of86.84%, clinical efficacy andintegration of modified Portmann scale score in the treatment group was better than that in thecontrol group (P<0.05);(3)After the treatment of two groups of patients in physical function(FDIP) score and social life (FDIS) scores were better than before treatment, but theimprovement of FDIP score and FDIS score in the treatment group was better than that in thecontrol group (P<0.05);(4)Safety evaluation: There were no significant differences between the two groups of patients before and after treatment of blood routine, urine routine, stoolroutine, liver function and renal function, electrocardiogram, the medication had nosignificant adverse reactions, suggesting that Fo shou Qu Feng Decoction is safe. Conclusion: Fo shou Qu Feng Decoction in the treatment of idiopathic facial nerveparalysis has significant curative effect, and no obvious side effect, can effectively improve thefacial nerve function symptoms, physical disability and psychosocial status of patients,is safeand effective method for the treatment of idiopathic facial paralysis.
