Objective:To observe the serum lipid levels and liver pathological changes of the fatty-liver rats with catgut embedding therapy method,to provide the laboratory evidence for the clinical treatment of obesity and fatty liver and related diseases of the through the embedding method.Methods:60healthy male SD (Sprague-Dawley) rats were randomly divided into two groups, a group of12(fed with a normal diet), a group of48(fed with the high fat diet and injected by small doses of CCL4soybean oil solution). After six weeks, the body weight of rats of the high-fat group was significantly higher than the normal diet group. Filter out the highest body mass index of30rats, randomly selected10and normal diet group were randomly selected two were sacrificed to observe the rat liver tissue biopsy. The remaining20rats of the high-fat group were randomly divided into two groups:model control group(10) and catgut embedding therapy group (10); the remaining10rats of food group as normal control group.a total of three group rats, a formal experiment. During the experiment, every group of experimental rats were fed with normal diet, normal control group received no treatment, catgut embedding therapy group catgut embedding therapy given through the hole, model control group given accompanied by a fixed. All were sacrificed after30days of treatment, to observe and compare the rats total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein (HDL-C) levels and rat liver pathological changes observed under the microscope. Results:After Six weeks, fat accumulation in liver cells of the high-fat group was significantly more than the normal diet group observed under the microscope. After30days, TC, TG and LDL-C levels of the catgut embedding therapy group were decreased significantly compared with the model group, the HDL-C levels were significantly increased (P<0.05) in the same field of view optical microscope, fat in liver cells of rats particles of catgut embedding therapy was significantly less than the control group.Conclusion:CCL4injection of small doses with high fat diet can be effective, which built the rapid establishment of obesity, fatty liver rat model. Through the catgut embedding therapy method can effectively improve the obesity, fatty liver, serum lipid levels, fat metabolism within the liver cells.
