Objective:To observe the expression of soluble programmed death factor-1(sPD-1) in the peripheral blood of gerontal patients with COPD, explore whether it involved in the pathogenesisand and pathogenesis of COPD.Methods:A total of31gerontal patients with COPD were included in the study. Gerontal pa tients with stable COPD(COPD group)10cases, Gerontal patients with acute exacer-bation of COPD(AECOPD group)31cases(including the follow-up of10patients wit h stab-le COPD in acute exacerbation).20healthy gerontal people as normal control group. The expression of sPD-1in serum were tested by ELISA. Analysing st-atisti cal results by SPSS13.0.Results:Gerontal patients with COPD、AECOPD and healthy gerontal people have the right amount of sPD-1factor expression in serum. The content of sPD-1in serum of COPD group is (51.11±9.90ng/ml); and the AECOPD group (51.70±9.33ng/ml), both of expression levels are lower than healthy gerontal people under physiological conditions (92.53±12.00ng/ml). Both COPD group and AECOPD group compare to normal control group there was a significant difference (P<0.05),Detected the sPD-1content in serum on the follow-up of10gerontal patients with COPD,there were not significant difference between stabilization period and in acute exacerbation (P=0.70).Conclusion:This study observed the expression of sPD-1in the serum of gerontal patients with COPD. The results show that compared to the control group, the content of soluble PD-1expression in peripheral blood in AECOPD group and COPD group were significantly lower (P<0.05). Prompt there may presence of PD-1downregulation in gerontal COPD patients, may break the balance between positive and negative stimulatory signal, increase negative co-stimulatory signal level and lead cellular immunity to suppressed state. Cause chronic inflammatory response. we speculate that sPD-1should have a cellular immune response involved in COPD.
