Remote diagnosis is an important part of telemedicine, which refers to the use ofmultimedia technology in a variety of communications for various medical activities.Telemedicine is mainly used in the retrieval of public health and medical databases,remote inspection, remote monitoring, distance learning and remote management ofmedical malpractice. As the most basic functions of remote diagnosis system is toensure the transmission of the medical images、voice and quality assurance in realtime in the internet. Now, with the rapid development of communication technologyand multimedia technology, researchers pay more attention on real time diagnosissystem. This paper devote on the design of fast real time diagnosis system. The mainwork includes:The general plan of the system and the operation method is introduced, which isbased on the analysis of the system. The C/S structure is considered as the basis forbuilding the entire communication network because of its convenience and stability.To reduce the amount of data stream being transferred in the system, we analyzethe procedure of data transfer. We found that copying screen is an appropriate methodto reduce the amount of data stream without decreasing the image quality. Therefore,only part of the image data which describe the change of the screen in diagnosisprocedure is needed to transfer.According to the image data compression algorithm H.264,the image datatransmission protocol RTP/RTCP, and the network voice stream transmission basedthe Speex library, we realize the transmission of data from copying screen quickly andfluently. The design and implementation of the communication server of the entiresystem are implemented. Finally, we test the speed of the system and future prospectsfor the development of the real time diagnostic system in telemedicine.
