As the population aging has been a problem and developed gradually, the numberof patients with osteoporosis has raised up year by year. At present its incidence alreadyhas reached to the seventh of common disease. Osteoporosis patients have reached200million as much around the world, there is more and more the fracture which it causes,which appear rising tendency obviously.The feature of Osteoporosis include reducing of bone mass、degeneration of bonemicrostructure and so on,which result in addition of bone fragility and causing fractureeasily,it is a systemic skeletal disease. Type of osteoporosis has three kinds,but thepatients number of postmenopausal women type belong to the largest. There are manytreatments, they have their own advantages and disadvantages. As the development ofbiomedical engineering, people have gradually realized many advantages ofelectromagnetic, wherein both pulsed electromagnetic fields and capacitive-coupledpulsed electric field are effective treatment on osteoporosis.In this experiment, firstly to establish osteoporosis animal model by ovariectomy,to use PEMFs and CCPEF to stimulate animal model, then to verify its treating effects.To investigate treatment with three kinds of PEMFs, CCPEF, PEMFs with CCPEF, andto compare the therapeutic effect, then to find the best treatment of them.Animal selection and grouping: chose50female SD rats which size are3-month-old, Weigh are250±20g, they were randomly divided into five groups: Blankgroup, Contrast group, PEMFs group, CCPEF group, PEMFs+CCPEF group.The plan: Blank group were sham operation, and the remaining four groups wereanimal models. After completion of the animal model4weeks, the treatment started,Blank group and Contrast groups: without any stimulation; PEMFs group: rats wereplaced in the breeding cage designed to expose in the low-frequency pulsed magneticfield of frequency of15Hz, intensity of0.4mT,8h/d, treat12weeks continuously;CCPEF group: after ether anesthesia, the rats were placed between the couplingcapacitor parallel plate designed, stimulation frequency is1.5MHz, strength is20Vpp,20min/d,5times/week, treat55times continuously; PEMFs+CCPEF Group: First toperform exposure treatment of PEMFs, the same program with PEMFs group; then toperform exposure treatment of CCPEF, the same program with CCPEF group, meaningthat complement each other of PEMFs and CCPEF. Sampling: observation of physical condition and weight measurements, urinecollection, blood collection, the removal of organs and weighed, biomechanicalproperties.Result: from data parameters of the weight changes, uterine factor, biochemicalindicators,bone maximum stress, Contrast group compared with Blank group, therewere significant changes, P <0.01, explain that animal models have been makesuccessfully; these three groups of PEMFs group, CCPEF group, PEMFs+CCPEFgroup compared with the Contrast group, all have some differences, P <0.05, explainthat these three treatments of PEMFs, CCPEF, PEMFs+CCPEF all have a role in thetreatment of osteoporosis; CCPEF group compared with PEMFs group, there is nosignificant difference, explain that therapeutic effect of the low-frequency pulsedelectromagnetic fields and capacitive-coupled pulsed electric field is almost the same,they have their own advantages and disadvantages; PEMFs+CCPEF group comparedwith PEMFs group and CCPEF group, in addition to parameter data of Ca, P, ALP, otherparameters have certain changes, P <0.05, explain that the therapy of capacitive-coupledpulsed electric field with the low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields is better thantheir single treatment.
