| Background After Total knee arthroplasty, terminal of knee flexion, the impact of thefemoral condyle and tibial prosthesis trailing edge is considered to be one of the factorslimiting further impede knee flexion. Learning more about the normal adult human femoralcondyle morphology, enabling personalized, gender differences in the surface of the total kneearthroplasty, and designing knee prosthesis to meet the patient characteristics, had been moreand more attention of clinicians. Objective Summarizing the proposed measure on The Posterior Condylar Offsetmethods, improved a new measured methods, that The Posterior Condylar Offset Ratio, andverify the practical application and feasibility of the new methods. Measuring The PosteriorCondylar Offset Ratio And comparing different age, gender, other side effects on thePCOR,aimed to obtain the value of them in normal adult in order to the design andimprovement of people’s knee fit joint prosthesis femoral osteotomy and provides atheoretical basis and data support for TKAsurgery. Methods Screening of patients to our hospital from January2012to May2013,134knees of94normal adult (were37male knees and57female with an average age of54.3years range from22to80years).The selection criteria: No complaints knee, femur and tibiaand fibula history of trauma, surgery;no pain, edema knee symptoms, physical examination, normal activities of the knee,no physical deformity of the knee, did not tell other congenitaldisease of the knee.Application of X-ray imaging system(Affiliated Hospital of HebeiUniversity Radiology), shooted A true lateral radiograph and proposed measurement methodof PCOR: Along the posterior femoral distal1/3of the cortex painting tangent. The lineintersects with the posterior femoral cortex.Measuring the distance between the highest pointof the femoral condyle and the line, and the diameter of the femur at the intersection of theline and the posterior femoral cortex, the ratio between the two is the PCOR. By the authorand two other experienced orthopedic surgeons randomly selected use Dicom Viewer imageanalysis software to measure each case according to the above criteria, record the result andapplying one-way ANOVA analysis of the differences between the three sets of data..Then wedivided the person to three groups:A B C, depending on the age of subject.Group A wasbetween22and40years,Group B was between41and60,Group C was between61and80. Application Dicom Viewer image analysis software to measure each knee POCR.Comparedthe effect of PCOR of different age, gender, side, using factorial analysis of variance designdata. Results A measured PCOR is0.7367±0.0712, B measured PCOR is0.7422±0.0886,propylene measured PCOR is0.7422±0.0872.We measured PCOR averaged0.74±0.0712.The three measurements was not statistically significant(P>0.05).55cases of male knee, theleft31cases, the right knee24cases, the left PCOR was0.747±0.071,0.723±0.060on theright, on average0.736±0.067. Female79cases, the left knee42cases, the right knee37cases,the left PCOR was0.730±0.079,0.745±0.069on the right, on average0.737±0.075. PCOR: Agroup0.720±0.053on average, group B0.737±0.072, group C0.746±0.078. After statisticalanalysis, age, gender, side impact PCOR have no statistically significant (P>0.05).Conclusion We believe that the new method avoids the disadvantages present in othermethods,by a difference between the different measurement meaningless and is an adaptationmeasure PCOR more practical approach. We measure PCOR and it was0.74. PCOR nosignificant differences in age, gender, side, normal adult PCOR always kept fixed in a normalrange.Nomal adult PCOR average of0.736±0.067in male,on average0.737±0.075offemale,average0.737±0.071. |
