Objective:To explore the best strategy for the surgical treatment of epilepsy patientswith lesions in the central region. Methods:From December2011to Janary2013,all the23patients are with epilepsyang structural lesions in the central area.Subdural electrodes were implanted in11patients,followed by long-term EEG monitoring and functional brain mapping by corticalelectrical stimulation. Results:Only one of11patients through cortical electrical stimulation performed thecontralateral upper limb muscle stength decrease, the rest of the patiernts were no foundobvious nerve dysfunction.Of13patients without cortical electrical stimulation,2patientsperformed the contralateral limb paralysis but not heavy,2patients performed languagedisorder.Conlusion:By intracanial EEG recording and functional brain mapping by electricalcortical stimulation,we can make sure the relation of epileptogenic lesion、the lesion and thefunctional region.
