Epilepsy is a disease of the central system caused by abnormally synchronized electrical discharges in the brain. The disease has an extremely high incidence in populations in countries around the world.Medications and surgery are the main ways to treating epilepsy.Epilepsy symptoms are removed or alleviated in most patients with oral antiepileptic drugs. However, there are still some epilepsy patients who cannot be treated with drugs and develop into drugresistant epilepsy. These patients require surgical removal of the epileptic area.Localizing epileptic regions for patients is a key step in the surgical treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy.Intracranial EEG high-frequency oscillation(HFO)signal are commonly used to localize epileptic regions. In epileptic region localization studies, some patients did not have epilepsy for a long time after implantation of electrodes. The use of intracranial electrical stimulation to determine the functional areas of the patient’s brain often induces seizures.Studies have shown that the EEG high-frequency oscillation signal induced by electrical stimulation has great scientific value and clinical significance for the localization of epileptic regions. However, there is a lack of research on the relationship between EEG high-frequency oscillation signal and epileptic areas during seizure-inducing.And the localization value of epilepsy-induced highfrequency oscillation signal is still unclear. This study is based on clinical data recorded by stereo-electroencephalography(SEEG).To analyze the relative relationship between the incidence of high-frequency oscillation signal and the epileptic area in patients during the interictal, spontaneous and electrical stimulationinduced periods. To study the feasibility of locating epileptic areas by using the characteristics of high-frequency oscillation signal of EEG induced by electrical stimulation. The main research contents are as follows: first, this paper uses high-frequency oscillation signal data from EEG in 6 patients, including 18 segments of interval data,20 segments of spontaneous phase data, and 12 segments of evoked phase data.De-interference and bipolar processing were performed on SEEG data. After that, the EEG high-frequency oscillation signal was detected. The differences in the incidence of EEG high-frequency oscillation signal in the three states were analyzed. Then, using the data of 4 patients with good surgical results, the characteristics of EEG high-frequency oscillation signal were analyzed in and out of the epileptic area in three states. The analysis features include the proportion of the number of EEG high-frequency oscillation signal to the total number of channels, the incidence and the mean of the incidence. The final results were as follows:(1)There were significant differences in the incidence of EEG high-frequency oscillation signal among the three states of the patients in the interictal, spontaneous and electrical stimulation-induced periods.(2)The incidence of EEG high-frequency oscillation signal in the epileptogenic area was significantly different between the interphase and the induced phase.Outside the epileptogenic area, there are also significant differences between the interphase and the induced phase, and between the spontaneous phase and the induced phase.(3)The proportion of EEG high-frequency oscillation signal channels detected in the epileptogenic area and the non-epileptic area under electrical stimulation decreased.(4)From the interictal period to the spontaneous period, the mean rate of change of EEG high-frequency oscillation signals increased both inside and outside the epileptogenic area.It rises both inside and outside the epileptogenic area from interictal to spontaneous. In the epileptogenic region,it decreases from the interictal period to the induction period. This study shows that there is a certain correlation between high-frequency oscillation and epileptic foci. The trends in the incidence of evoked and spontaneous high-frequency oscillation signal were similar. The incidence of evoked high-frequency oscillation signal was significantly increased in some channels in the epileptic area. This feature can be used as a reference index for clinical judgment of epileptic areas.
