Research And Development Of English Version For ICD Management System

With growth of information technology and life science and technology, usageof digital medical has become inevitable. Classification of Diseases basis forestablishing a standard system of digital medical information.Focusing on the study of disease clаssification system and reviewing theprevious version and also finding similar standards and adaptations in other countriesand finally providing the English website and English name of diseases according tothe localized Chinese database and website are the goals of this research.In order to understаnd the concept of Internаtionаl Clаssification of Diseasethe different versions of ICD6, ICD7, ICD8, ICD9, ICPM, ICD-9-CM, ICD10,ICD10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, ICD-10-CA, ICD-11was reviewed and the literatureand progress of coding technology and trend was analysed. The necessity, specificity,similarity and finally related cost was analysed and the needs to ICD education andcomparison of different versions was done in a question and answer section. As thisstudy currently is undergoing in China, the author paid special attention to China andhospital information system and public health and health related standard deeplyreviewed in order to get the idea of where China stands and how is the situation ofChinese localized ICD; after reviewing Chinese situation the need for knowing othercountries competencies was necessary, so the situation in Australia, Canada, Germany,Korea and United States was also analysed. In order to do the ICD website localizationin China and prepare the English website for Chinese users, special attention needed toChinese customs and habits because of deeply cultural related issues, so the research ofhow website parts needed to be in China such as language, picture, symbol, colours,navigation, content, formatting, and etc. was performed.Finally the website localization with the help of the NetBeans software wasdone and all the English interface was came to effect; more than61000names ofdiseases was completely typed in the database and become ready to use for the website.
