Objective:To investigate the factors correlated to femoral head necrosis in patients younger than65years old after percutaneous osteosynthesis of femoral neck fractures. Methods:One hundred fifty-eight patients younger than65years old with femoral neck fracture, treated with closed reduction and internal fixation were admitted from June2008to June2010. The BMI (body mass index), preoperative traction, Sexuality, tracture displacement,Waiting time before operation and the Number of screws were analyzed by SPSS19.0statistic system to evaluate the correlation. Results:Complete case records were documented in110cases that the latest follow-up was after June2012. Femoral head necrosis occurred in17cases (15.45%). The combination of BMI and fracture displacement was found to have the most significant influence on the femoral head necrosis after internal fixation for femoral neck fractures. Conclusions:Fracture displacement are the most important factor correlated to the outcome of a femoral neck fracture. BMI may affect the patient’s weight-bearing after operation and level of lipidemia and blood-pression to be associated with femoral head necrosis.
