OBJECTIVEThis study was undertaken retrospectively to analyze the clinicopathologic and immunohistochemistry staining characteristics of epitheilioid trophoblastic tumor(ETT).MATERIALS AND METHODS:18medical records of patients with ETT from April2001to April2013at Women’s Hospital School of Medicine Zhejiang University were analyzed. All cases were reviewed histopathologicly by two experienced pathologists. The clinical data were compared with17cases of placental site trophoblastic tumor.RESULTS:All patients with ETT were in reproductive age with an average of34.6years old (range:26-54).16.7%of the18ETT cases followed natural delivery,16.7%followed Cesarean delivery, other antecedent pregnancy included abortion (33.3%), Hydatidiform mole (22.2%) and choriocarcinoma (11.1%). The time interval between the antecedent pregnancy and diagnosis of ETT varied from2months to312months with an average of71.8months. Abnormal vaginal bleeding was the most common complaint. The level of β-HCG ranged from0.01to174315IU/L with an average of31515.55IU/L. Surgery was the first line treatment for ETT, chemotherapy and local radiotherapy should be considered when necessary.
