Background and aim:Amyloidosis is a group of diseases caused by a variety of reasons with amyloid deposition to intercellular space, which results damage cells and organ function. Digestive system is one of the regions to be commonly invaded in the disease. Clinical manifestations lack of specificity and easily misdiagnosed. The purpose of this article is to investigate the digestive system the clinical manifestations and diagnosis methods of amyloidosis, in order to improve the diagnosis rate of the disease, avoiding misdiagnosis.Methods:Age, Clinical manifestations, classification, imaging examination, laboratory results, therapy and prognosis of33cases with amyloidosis in digestive system were analyzed and summarized. The relevant literatures were reviewed.Results:These patients presented various digestive symptoms and fiver was most commonly invaded in these cases. The laboratory and imaging examination was uncharacteristic.8patients were once diagnosed incorrectly. Moreover, those with systemic amyloidosis were irresponsive to treatment and were usually with unfavorable prognosis.Conclusion:Digestive system is one of the regions to be commonly invaded in amyloidosis. The patients are lack of specific clinical manifestation, laboratory and imaging examination, which results a high misdiagnosis ratio. Biopsy has been suggested to the only means to confirm the diagnosis.
