Serum Estradiol Level On The Day-of-HCG Involves In The Pregnancy Outcome Of PCOS Patients After IVT-ET

OBJECTIVE To compare the outcome of the patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and normal patients after IVF-ET, and search for the contribution of serum estradiol level on the day-of-HCG.METHODS Clinical data of286patients with PCOS or tubal infertility patients undergoing IVF-ET retrospectively analysed. Compare the serum estradiol level on the day-of-HCG, number of oocytes, fertilization rate, effective embryo rate, clinical pregnancy rate, abortion rate and birth weight of offspring between the two groups; group comparisons in PCOS group according to the different estradiol level.RESULT The serum estradiol level on the day-of-HCG is significantly higher in PCOS patients than those in the control group (p<0.05), as well as the number of oocytes, while the abortion rate was significantly higher in PCOS patients (p＜0.05). But no significant differences were showed in the fertilization rate, effective embryo rate and birth weight of offspring between the two group (p＞0.05). In PCOS group comparisons, patients with the estradiol level over20000pmol/l can get more oocytes than others, but has the lowest effective embryo rate (p<0.05). The patients with estradiol level in10000-20000pmol/l has the lower abortion rate than the others (p＜0.05). The fertilization rate and clinical pregnancy rate have no significant differences in the three groups (p＞0.05).CONCLUTION High estradiol level may be detrimental to the quality of oocytes, which can affect the pregnancy outcomes of PCOS patients after IVF-ET; and and it can increase the risk of early pregnancy loss whether the estradiol level is too high or too low.
