Objective:To explore the relationship of the serum level of soluble epithelial cell cadherin and therapeutic efficacybefore and after the treatment of acute lymphocyte leukemia.Method:Collected29patients of acute lymphocyte leukemia and30persons of the normal-control group. Withenzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELISA), the level of sE-cad in the serum of29patients weremeasured, and30case normal-control subjects also were detected as comparison(the group beforetreatment was divided into high white blood cell viremia group and non-high white blood cell viremiagroup, the group after treatment was divided into complete remission group and non-complete remissiongroup),and some other related items were determined as well. To compare the variation level of sE-cad inthe serum before and after the treatment with acute lymphocyte leukemia patients and observe other relateditem. All data were analyzed by SPSS17.0.Results:1.The serum level of soluble epithelial cell cadherin in acute lymphocyte leukemia beforetreatment(83.98±22.62ng/ml)or that in the patients after treatment in the non-complete remission group(75.68±14.01ng/ml)was significantly higher than in the control group(25.74±7.79ng/ml)and that in thepatients after treatment in the complete remission group(27.77±10.21ng/ml)(P<0.01).2.The serum level of soluble epithelial cell cadherin in the patients after treatment in the completeremission group was significantly lower than that in the patients before treatment(84.26±22.49ng/ml)(P<0.01).3.The serum level of soluble epithelial cell cadherin in acute lymphocyte leukemia with high white bloodcell viremia(111.18±21.23ng/ml)was significantly higher than that in non-high white blood cell viremiagroup(75.32±15.11ng/ml)(P<0.01).4.The serum level of soluble epithelial cell cadherin in acute lymphocyte leukemia was positivelycorrelated with the percentage of marrow blasts, and the correlation coefficient was0.687(P<0.01).Conclusion:1.The high expression of sE-cad in acute lymphocyte leukemia group suggested that sE-cad may be relatedto the occurrence of acute lymphocyte leukemia.2.The serum level of soluble epithelial cell cadherin was related to the therapy in acute lymphocyteleukemia, and the detection of soluble epithelial cell cadherin was of some significance on the prognosisand the clinical observation in acute lymphocyte leukemia.
