A Comparative Study Of The Children Temperament And Parental Rearing Patterns In8-12ages Between Ethnic Uighur And Ethnic Han

Objective: To compare the features of the children temperament and parental rearingpatterns in8-12ages between ethnic Uighur and ethnic Han..Methods: The524children (including the248ethnic Uighur and276ethnic Han)aged8-12years old from four primary schools in Urumqi were randomly sampled. All studentsand their parents were assessed using ‘Egma minnen av bardndosnauppforstran(EMBU)’scale and ‘Middle Childhood Temperament Questionnaire (MCTQ).Results:1. Comparing the ethnic Uighur group, the ethnic HAN children got higherscores on activity, adaptability，emotional nature,and persistence factors of MCTQ.（P<0.05）2. There are significant different on FF1,FF2, FF4,FF6, MF1,MF2,MF5of theEMBU between ethnic Uighur and Han group, which the scores of Uighur group arehigher than Han（.P <0.05.Relatively, the scores of FF2,MF4are higher than Uighur group.（P <0.05）.3. The children’s temperament have correlations with parental rearing patterns,which the FF2,MF4in EMBU are positive relationship with the activity factor of MCTQ.The FF2,MF3in EMBU are positive relationship with the adaptability factor of MCTQ.The FF1, MF5in EMBU are negative relationship with the persistence factor of MCTQ.Conclusion:1. The results manifested the ethnic Uighur and ethnic Han children parentsused different rearing patterns to cultivate their children.2. The ethnic Han children havehigher activity level, and the adaptability,emotional nature, persistence factors showed bythe Uighur children were better than Han children.3. The temperament of the children andparental rearing patterns are correlated relationship.
