In this Paper, the methods of source identification, character identification,microscopic identification,and physical and chemical identification are used to conduct asystematic pharmacognosy researchabout the root of Shuteria sinensis Hemsl, what’s more,we also had researched the compositon by using the conventional plant chemical methods, in consequence,8compounds were isolated from this specis.We had used the HPLC to measure the content of the main ingredient and conducted the method of HPLC, at the same time, we had measured the samlpes from different places of origin,In order to provide basisfor quality assessment and quality control of Shuteria sinensis Hemsl.in Yunnan province.This thesis referenced to appedix method of the2010edition of "Chinese Pharmacopoeia" part A to measure the content of extract, moisture, ash, heavy metals andother projects. We preliminary established the QC limited quota of each item above,drafted the quality standard program of Shuteria sinensis Hemsl.,and provided areference for formulating the Yunnan official quallity standards.
