Objective atrial fibrillation(AF) is the most frequently encountered postoperativearrhythmic complication after coronary artery bypass graft(CABG).These is increasingevidence to support the influence of Interleukin in the pathogenesis of AF.The purposeof this study is observed the relation of postoperative new AF and IL-8、IL-10changesafter CABG.Method35patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting who were not AFwere randomly selected.Holter data from24-hour electrocardiography were collectedafter the surgery, depend on whether AF is occurd,we were divided into the AF groupand the non-AF group. The serum IL-8and IL-10levels were tested by using anenzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)(before surgery,2hr,6hr,1day,2day aftersurgery). The clinical data were compared and analyzed with statistical software. Results There were no deaths in these patients, the overall incidences ofpostoperative AF were31.4%.Patients with postoperative AF had longer ICUtreatment and longer respiratory treatment(P<0.05).There is no significant differernce ofIL-8between the two groups before surgery(4.600.46vs4.410.63pg/ml,P>0.05),theconcentrations of serum IL-8was significantly higher at2hours(128.9435.37vs42.723.42pg/ml,P<0.05) and on the first postoperative morning(45.237.74vs24.644.92pg/ml,P<0.05)and second postoperative morning(38.071.58vs19.082.31pg/ml,P<0.05) in patients with postoperative AF, There is no significant differernce ofIL-10(3.610.30vs3.430.29pg/ml,P>0.05)between the two groups beforesurgery, the concentrations of serum IL-10was significantly higher on the firstpostoperative morning(17.040.73vs11.870.69pg/ml,P<0.05) in patients withpostoperative AF Conclusion Atrial fibrillation(AF) is one of the most frequently encounteredpostoperative complication in patients who undergo coronary artery bypassgrafting(CABG).Postoperative AF in CABG patients was associated with higher releaseof IL-8and IL-10.Postoperative inflammatory change is probably one of the causes ofpostoperative AF in CABG patients.Inflammation may provide a potential target for theincidence of AF.
