Backgroud:Laser,as a new type of light source, has benn widely used in many fields includinghealth care, industrial processe, scientific research and national defense construction.Likeother electromagnetic radiations, laser does harm to human health. The laser work site is acomplex condition, exists factor harm to human. Many studies revealed that professional personnel engaged in laser work has obviousdiscomfortable symptoms. Laser has adverse effects on visual system, cardiovascularsystem, nervous system and genital system. However, the research about the effet of Thelaser working environment on human health is limited. The process of aging is involved inmany factors, and all kinds of radiation and harmful gas can accelerate the process of aging. At present, the assay of aging focuses on the following ways.KL protein is coded by klotho gene, and secreted form of klotho function as acirculation hormone.overexpression of klotho can prolong the lifespan in mice.researchfound that the klotho concentration in serum is related to age, increasing age can reducedklotho.Telomere is the repeated DNA fragment of the ends of the chromosomes. As the cellscontinue to divide, Telomeres will be shorten slowly. The length of Telomere determine thelifespan, which is knowed as The Clock of Life。The length of Telomere reduced as theincreased age.Lipid peroxidation caused by free radicals and its metabolites can cause agingrelateddisease。Immune function decline is The most prominent feature of aging。SOD is a keykey enzyme of scavenging free radicals.MDA is degradation product of Free radicalsattacking biological, which reflect the Damage degree of the organization.Based on above,we intend to study the klotho and SOD MDA and length of Telomere in professional people engaged in laser work for a long time and normal people anddetermine whether the laser working environment effet the process of aging. Objective To understand Effects of chronic laser stimulation on human aging-relatedindicators.Methods:168staffs in a certain laser institute were divide into exposed group(n=90)and non-exposed group(n=78) according to wether or not participating laserjob.Solid-phase sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was use to detectplasma klotho protein content, colorimetric detection was empoyed to measure erythrocytesuperoxide dismutase(SOD) and malondialdchyde(MDA) concentration, and fowfluorescence in situ hybridization(Flow-FISH) was adopted to test length of telomere inlymphocyte. Results: Compared with control group, the value of K1-protein, SOD and MDAcontent in red blood cells, and the telomere length in peripheral lymphocytes have nosignificant difference in chronic laser group. However, the values of SOD in red blood cellsdecrease significantly in chronic laser group compared with control group. Moreover, according to multiple regression analysis, the value of SOD in red blood cells is determinedby the effect of age, sex, and cigarette, and there is no significant difference in chronic lasergroup when compared with control group. The smoking person with chronic laser exposinghas lower value of SOD in red blood cells. Conclusion:There is no effect on aging in person with chronic laser stimulation. However, the smoking person may have lower value of SOD in red blood cells.
