| Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect and clinical analysis on the treatment ofearly stage osteonecrosis of the femoral head by core decompression combined withimplantation of bone marrow stem cells(BMSCs).Methods: Totally seventeen hips in sixteen patients with femoral head necrosis treatedby core decompression combined BMSCs were enrolled between June2008and June2010.Totally one yeay follow-up after operation(once per three months)was done.X-ray examination at positive, lateral and frog leg position and MRI scanning wereperformed to observe the change of pathogenetic condition in clinic service recheck.Harris score was used to evaluate curarive effect, more than90points as excellent,75-90points as good60-74points as not good and less than60points as bad. It wasthought that therapeutic alliance was effective if Harris scores were elevated.Morphologic change of femoral head ameliorated and the volume of necrotic zone wasdiminished. Results: All patients were followed up for l2months. The outcomes were determinedby changes in Harris hip scores and radiographic progression detected by X-ray andMRI. The Harris scores of patients from55.42to83.56(P<0.01). The rate of excellentand good results was85.7%.Conclusion: Core decompression combined with implantation of autologous BMSCs is a new safe and effective method on the treatment of femoral head necrosis. Especiallyfor those young patients early stage osteonecmsis of the femoral head. |
