Ibn·Slna (980-1037) called Avicenna by the Latin name is an Islamic medieval famous thinker, philosopher, scientist and physician,. His "Medical Pharmacopoeia" is the famous ancient medicine encyclopedia in western medical history. My paper based on the Chinese version of "Medical Pharmacopoeia"(Volume One) translated by ZhuMing, Professor from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, along with the theory of "four lines of body fluid", study the origin, development, decline of the course and the basic content, combining with the ancient Greek philosophy of the universe and the analysis of traditional Chinese medicine theory of five element to make a conclusion that the ancient Greek cosmogony first came from Ibn·Slna’s medical thought. According to Ibn·Slna, man and nature should be viewed as a whole and the human body can balance itself. In addition, Ibn·Slna’s concept of the soul is one of the most important part in his philosophical thought. He was not only influenced by Aristotelian doctrine of soul, but also endeavored to comply Islamic creeds advocated by Allah. Therefore, Ibn·Slna’s medical thought is also permeated with rich religious theological philosophy. Comparing the philosophy in Ibn.Slna’s "Medical Pharmacopoeia"(Volume One) with the philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine, we can find that the similar point is that both go along the way of simplicity to philosophy and finally to science and the difference lies in the fact that they base on the different philosophical basis. This paper wants to show people a scientific concept of health---we should live harmoniously with nature and our body and mind can develop in a harmonious way so as to prevent by analyzing the philosophical foundation in Ibn.Slna’s "Medical Pharmacopoeia"(Volume One)...
