Literature Study On Making, Appliance And Characteristics Rule Of Herbalpastes Treating Xulao

The pathogenesis of Xulao is asthenia in Zang-fu organs,Qi andblood with debilitating symptoms.There are external paste and orallypaste. Orally paste is herbalpastes,which based on holism concept,syndromedifferentiation and treatment with efficacy of nourish,anti-aging and ward offdisease.Herbalpastes treating Xulao first appeared in the Han dynasty.Fromnow on herbalpastes treating Xulao were widely used in clinical.Productionmethods of herbalpastes became grown-up and abundant. There were muchclinical and experimental study on herbalpastes,but there is no systematicliterature study on it.ObjectiveWe retrieved literature on herbalpastes treating Xulao from writing.Afterentering the database,we will study characteristics composition ofherbalpastes in order to bring forward the rule on it.MethodsWe retrieved literature on herbalpastes treating Xulao fromwriting of TCM and CNKI（1990～2013）.After entering the database, Adatabase will be established and statistical analysis will be put into use.Study the frequencies of Chinese medicine in herbalpastes to find thehigh frequency medicine and compatibility. Then we will inference thetendency,which could help the clinic and theory.ResultsZhang Zhong-jing mentioned Xulao in the Synopsis of the GoldenChamber first of all. After the later development,a large number of morecomplicated herbalpastes were developed. Especially herbalpastes basedon syndrome differentiation and treatment were used wildely in Qing dynasty. We collected the literature of Han dynasty to the Qing dynasty, andretrieved129herbalpastes treating Xulao.After standardized treatment thedataes of prescription include source, disease location, symptoms, pattern ofsyndrome,composition of medicine, production methods, taking method.We study the frequencies of Chinese medicine in the129herbalpastes tofind the high frequency medicine and compatibility.The tonic herbs, excipients, heat-clearing,invigorating the circulation ofblood, expectorant, temperature in medicine, water moisture penetrationmedicine were much more used from Han dynasty to Yuan dynasty.Andfrequencies of the tonic herbs is291from Ming to Qing dynasty,besidesnourishing Qi,supplement of Yin,enrich the blood medicine.ConclusionThe making of herbalpastes were improved from Han，andproduction methods became grown-up and abundant since the morderntimes. Appliance of herbalpastes was noursh in Han,while both noursh andtreating in Song,Jin,Yuan. Herbalpastes were wildly used in Qing.Characteristics about the compatibility of herbalpastes treating Xulaowere both commonalities and differences in different times.The tonic herbswas the main drugs in herbalpastes.From Han dynasty to Yuan dynasty thenourishing Qi, supplement of Yang were paid attention much more,whichembodies strengthening Yang-qi,removing the spleen kidney. There were moreattention to nourishing Qi, supplement of Yin, enriching the blood in Ming andQing.A small amount of supplement of Yang was used,that meaned reinforcingYang from Yin.In all ages living things, honey,sugar,wine,gum were used.Atthe same time astringent, harmonizing stomach medicine were considered.We sum up the characteristics about the compatibility of herbalpastestreating Xulao based on the literature.The most important medicine is tonicherbs, especially removing the lung Qi,spleen Qi,kidney essence.Heat-clearing, temperature in medicine are necessary too. In addition we alsoneed invigorating the circulation of blood, expectorant,water moisturepenetration medicine based on the syndrome differentiation and treatment.The medcine must be gentle to keep the balance of Yin and Yang. We shoulduse assistant medicine properly.In order to nourish essence, blood, liver andkidney we should use rehmannia, honey, scrophulariae, wolfberry,ophiopogonis, tortoise-plastron glue sometimes.
