Objective: To investigate the HPV genotype distribution in Xin jiang breast cancer, we detected the HPVinfection in large sample of breast cancer tissues from the Xin jiang province and analysis the relationshipbetween HPV infection and the clinical-pathological parameters of the breast cancer., which will providean experimental basis for tertiary prevention as well as diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.Methods:(1) Using the HPV gene chip, HPV genotypes were detected in325paraffin-embedded breastcancer tissues and100cases of breast adenosis tissues. The relationship between HPV infection and breastcancer clinical-pathological parameters were also assessed.(2) Statistical analyses were performed by theuse of SPSS17.0statistical software package. Qualitative data were analyzed by chi-square test; Spearmancorrelation analysis was used to analyze the correlation of HPV infection and IL-17expression and Stat3activation.Results:(1) The HPV DNA infection were identified in38of325patients with breast cancer(11.7%) andthe most common infection of HPV genotype in breast cancer is HPVl6(81.5%). The distribution of HPVinfection in cases of breast adenosis samples were12%(12/100). However, there is no significantdifferences of HPV infection between the breast cancer and breast adenosis(p=0.567).(2)The positive rateof HPV infection in invasive lobular carcinoma was15.4%(6/39), followed by11.5%of ductal carcinomain situ, the positive rate was11.5(3/26);29cases of HPV-positive cases, the positive rate of HPV infectionin invasive ductal carcinoma was11.1%(29/260). There is no significant differences of HPV infectionamong the three groups(p=0.709);(3)The correlation of HPV genotype with pathological differentiationhave different in invasive ductal carcinoma(P<0.05), but no-statistically significant association betweenHPV presence and age, tumor size, ER,PE Her-2and histology were found(P>0.05).(4)The relationshipbetween the HPV infection and the expression of IL-17have positive correlation(rs=0.177, p=0.001);The relationship between the HPV infection and activation of Stat3has not been found;(rs=0.096,p=0.087)。Conclusions:(1)HPV-16was the most common HPV genotype infection in Xin jiang breast cancer andbreast adenosis. There was no correlation between HPV infection and the development of breast cancer inXin jiang region.(2)HPV infection was positively correlated with IL-17expression, which suggested apossible synergistic action between HPV and IL-17in the pathogenesis and progression of breast cancer.
