Objective: By the investigation of the effect on lowing body-temperature,anti-inflammation, and fighting free radicals injury of compatibility of PeriostracumCicadae and Fructus Forsythiae in fever rats to demonstrate that the compatibility of thetwo drugs can enhance the above functions and find out the best compatible proportions ofthe two medicines on each aspects. Methods: Eighty SD half male and half female ratsare randomly dividing into8groups: Periostracum Cicadae group, Fructus Forsythiaegroup, Periostracum Cicadae and Fructus Forsythiae1:1group, Periostracum Cicadaeand Fructus Forsythiae2:5group, Periostracum Cicadae and Fructus Forsythiae3:4group, Qingkailing group, model group, control group;10rats each. Besides control group,other rats are induced by the injection of10%dry yeast suspension10ml/kg in the backskin to establish the fever rat models. And then take the Periostracum Cicadae, FructusForsythiae, Periostracum Cicadae and Fructus Forsythiae compatible proportions of1:1,2:5and3:4into the physic liquor, make the intragastric administration as the treatmentrespectively. Observing body-temperature, the content of IL-1β and NO in blood serum ofthe fever rats. Results:(1) Periostracum Cicadae group, Fructus Forsythiae group andtheir different compatible proportions all have the effect of lowing the temperature, andcompared to model group(P﹤0.05or P﹤0.01), the compatible proportion of1:1grouphas the best effect in this aspect.(2) Periostracum Cicadae, Fructus Forsythiae and theirdifferent compatible proportions all have the effect of decreasing the content of IL-1β inblood serum, and compared to model group(P﹤0.05or P﹤0.01), the combined ratio of1:1has the best effect in this aspect.(3) Periostracum Cicadae, Fructus Forsythiae andtheir different compatible proportions all have the effect of decreasing the content of NOin blood serum, and compared to model group(P﹤0.05or P﹤0.01), the combined ratioof1:1has the best effect in this aspect. Conclusion:(1) Compatible application ofPeriostracum Cicadae and Fructus Forsythiae has significantly synergistic effect on lowing the temperature, anti-inflammation, and fighting free radical injury, which revealsthe scientific character of compatible application.(2) The best compatible proportion onlowing the body temperature, anti-inflammation, and fighting free radical injury is1:1.(3)The mechanism of bringing down the fever of compatible application of PeriostracumCicadae and Fructus Forsythiae might be through decreasing the content of IL-1β inblood serum to lowing the body-temperature indirectly; by reducing the content of NO andother free radicals in blood serum to reduce body damage from heat.
