Objective:To study the effects of the reconstruction of the posterior cervical ligamentous complexon the open-door angle of lamina in the posterior cervical single open-doorlaminoplasty.Method:The data of the patients who enrolled from Oct2009to Dec2011and were treated withsingle open-door laminoplasty before a more than10month of following-up wereanalyzed. They were divided into2groups according to the different surgicalprocedures, in which,10cases of posterior cervical open-door laminoplasty wereclassified to group A (8cases of male and2cases of female, their ages were from48-62years old with an average age of54.5), the remaining7cases of patients treated by theopen-door laminoplasty with the reconstruction of the posterior cervical ligamentouscomplex were classified to group B (all were male, their ages were from47-60years oldwith an average age of50.3). All patients had the postoperative and at least onefollowing-up (at least10months) cervical spine anterioposterior and lateral radiographsand CT films, for the frequent following-up patients, their final data were used for thisanalysis. Results:The CT films showed the difference between the measurement for the open-angle of lamina of group A and that of group B were not significant at2weeks postoperatively(P>0.05), and at6months postoperatively, the open-angle of lamina of group A weresignificantly bigger than that of B (P <0.05). And the comparison between the RR valueof group A and that of group B showed both their postoperative neurological symptomswere improved significantly at2weeks and10months postoperatively, and their RRvalues were not significantly different at these2time points (P>0.05). And the CTfilms at10months postoperatively showed these2groups had no patients who reclosedthe opened laminae. Conclusion:The CT films at10months postoperatively showed the open-angle of lamina of thepatients treated by the open-door laminoplasty with the reconstruction of the posteriorcervical ligamentous complex were smaller than the posterior cervical open-doorlaminoplasty patients. For the open-door laminoplasty with the reconstruction of theposterior cervical ligamentous complex, the bigger intraoperative open-angle andtrustworthy fixation were recommended.
