Objective To study the significance of selecting internal fixation of senileinterochanteric fractures by comparing the effects of Gamma2nail and proximalfemoral nail antirotation(PFNA).Methods From Mar2011to Aug2012,42cases of elderly intertrochanteric fractureswere divided into Gamma2nail(21cases) group and PFNA(21cases) group. They wereall treated by skin traction and closing reduction. The Gamma2nail and PFNA wereinserted through a minimum skin incision.Operative time, volume of blood lose, complications, healing time and clinical effects were analyzed. Results The difference between Gamma2nail and PFNA groups had more statisticallysignificance(P<0.05) on average operative time and average volume of bloodlose.PFNA group was much better than Gamma2nail group. The difference betweenGamma2nail and PFNA groups had no statistically significance(P>0.05) oncomplications, healing time and clinical effects. Conclusion Compared with Gamma2nail,PFNA has the advantages of minimalvasion, short operative time, less blood loss and so on,it is an ideal operation method intreating senile interochangteric fractures.
