Background and ObjectiveAcinetobacter bauman is a common clinical condition pathogenic bacteria, are significant pathogens of nosocomial infection. In recent years, along with the broad spectrum antibiotic widely used, A. bauman resistance is becoming more and more serious, pandrug-resistant (PDR) and multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains increase ceaselessly, especially Carbapenem-resistant of A.bauman, Infections by such organisms are difficult to treat for clinicans. We collect the cases of en-dotracheal aspirates samples of A. baumannii in patients with ventilator-associated pneumonia in intensive care unit in order to know the antimicrobial resistance characteristic, and direct clinical docters to select antibiotics correctly.MethodsTotal of112cases of en-dotracheal aspirates samples of A. baumannii in intensive care unit from January2008to December2011were collected. VITEK2COMPACT system analyzer was used to identify the microbe and antibiotic susceptibility. The antibiotic susceptibility data was analyzed by SPSS16.0software.ResultsThe antimicrobial resistance rates of A. bauman to common antimicrobial drugs increased in the past4years. A number of pandrug-resistant and multidrug-resistant A. baumannii were found. The rate of antimicrobial resistance of A. baumannii to cefoperazone sulbactam was48.2%, the resistant rate to imipenam was68.4%and showed a remarkable uptrend.ConclusionA. baumannii is one of the most common pathogens of ventilator-associated pneumonia. The antibiotic resistance of A. baumannii is still increasing, especially the MDR and PDR strains of A. baumannii. It should be paid a great attention.
